How to Get Involved in the Middlesex CSWB Plan

Everyone has a role to play in safety and well-being, and the municipalities across Middlesex County are looking for your feedback as we develop a collaborative Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan. The CSWB plan, which is required under the Province’s Safer Ontario Act, 2018, will identify priority risks in Middlesex and outline strategies and actions to improve the safety and well-being for all residents in our community.

Your voice matters! As part of the CSWB community engagement approach, we are conducting an online public survey to gather resident perceptions about community safety and well-being. We are also using a Share Your Story feature designed to have community members tell us more about what safety and well-being personally means to them using their own words and photos. Both the survey and the story feature will be available until early Fall, at which point all feedback will be compiled and analyzed to inform the development of the Middlesex CSWB Plan.

NOTICE OF COUNTY ROAD ASSUMPTION 

Please take notice that Pike Road from Mullifarry Drive to Melbourne Road (County Road 9) and Mullifarry Drive from Centre Road (County Road 81) to Pike Road will be assumed by the County of Middlesex, effective August 1, 2020.  Click here to view map.

COUNTY ROAD CONSTRUCTION

The County of Middlesex is performing road construction along Egremont Drive from Sexton Road to Hickory Drive within the Township of Adelaide Metcalfe.  Any questions about the construction should be directed to Chris Traini at ctraini@middlesex.ca.

 

2020 Dog Tags

Due to Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no door-to-door collection this year.

The information being mailed out is based off 2019 Dog Tags that were issued.

The name and address on the invoice is that of the land owner.  If tenants are living at this address, please have the tenant complete the paperwork and make the payment by cheque or cash using the drop box beside the front entrance at the municipal office. 

If there is no dog at this address, please return the tag to the municipal office, so the invoice can be reversed.   

We appreciate your patience during this transition from door-to-door to invoicing.  If you have been sent this invoice in error, place contact the Municipal Office 519-247-3687.

The Special Policy Area Review Open House and Public Meeting took place Thursday, October 17, 2019.  The Background Report and Questionnaire is available on the October 17, 2019 agenda.  The questionnaire was due by Friday, October 25, 2019. Below is the Notice and Map outlining the areas throughout the Township.

The Planning Act requires that the council of every upper-tier municipality appoint a Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) and that at least one member of the PAC be a citizen appointee. County Council has established a terms of reference for the PAC and advertisements for the citizen appointee applications are in local papers, on-line and throughout the libraries.

June 28, 2018 - Township of Adelaide Metcalfe Logo

Adelaide Metcalfe – Following a Township wide survey conducted in 2017, the Council of the Township of Adelaide Metcalfe has adopted a new logo. The survey results indicated that many residents favoured a change to a more modern identity for the Township.
"The progressive decision by Council to modernize our Township image is vital," says Mayor Smith, "updating the Township logo is the first step in the branding strategy of the Strategic Plan".
The original Township crest was designed in 2001 as part of the amalgamation of the former Townships of Adelaide and Metcalfe. The new logo was created as a tribute to elements of the original crest with emphasis on the strength of the unified Adelaide Metcalfe.
Council will roll out the new logo this summer. The $30,000 donation received through the ‘Mar for Mayors’ program will be used to update the welcome signs into the Township and for the installation of community signs such as Buttery Creek and Kerwood.
